The number of people diagnosed with asbestos caused diseases in the U.S. continues to increase. Experts believe 60,000 mesothelioma deaths will occur between 2010 and 2030.

Dean A. Notable verdicts to his credit include:  Clinton vs. Union Carbide Corporation, an 11.2 million dollar jury verdict, for which he was selected as a final Nominee for California Trial Attorney of the Year in 2005; Newman vs. Lorillard, Inc., only the second verdict in the country against the cigarette maker for its asbestos-containing cigarette filters made during the 1950s; Rose vs. Owens Corning, for which the 2.8 million dollar verdict is one of the highest on record for a victim of asbestosis; and Morrison vs. Copeland Corporation, for which the 5.2 million dollar verdict was the first against the compressor maker for having caused lung cancer in an HVAC mechanic.  In recognition of his professional success, he has been named as a California SuperLawyer since 2006.     In   
 
Since 2006, he has been named to the California SuperLawyers index.Born in 1964, Dean grew up in Portland, Oregon where he began his college years at the University of Oregon as an honors student.  In 1989, he completed his undergraduate training at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature.  In 1992, he obtained his degree in law at the State University of New York, Buffalo. During his tenure in law school, Dean was a member of the National Lawyers Guild, the Human Rights Organization, and completed an internship at the United Nations in Geneva. In 1993, he was admitted to the New York State Bar Association and the State Bar of California.
