Campbell Filmer was born in New South Wales in the Outback of Australia. He graduated from Purchase College - State University of New York in 1997 with a degree in Psychology. While attending University he completed a legal internship at the New York Public Interest Research Group. He received a law degree from New York Law School in 2006. While in law school, he interned at the Legal Aid Society, the Unemployment Action Center, and the New York Law School Tax Assistance Program. Based on these contributions he was awarded a Public Service Award by the law school.
