Description of Case:  John Berning was exposed to Bendix brake linings while repairing the brakes on his family’s vehicles.  Since this was the only exposure that could be proven, Allied Signal was found to be one hundred percent responsible.

Resolution:  $1.2 million verdict against Allied Signal, the successor in interest of Bendix Corporation.

Economic damages:  $275,579

Non-economic damages:  $850,000 Allied Signal was found to be 100% responsible for the damages to John Berning.
