Work related injuries harm up to 14 million people annually, with harms including traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputations, burns, and electrocutions. Around 20,000 to 60,000 workers die each year from accidents, toxins, and violence at their jobs.

Millions of consumers and workers are injured each year because of defective products. Defects can occur when a product is designed poorly, when a product is manufactured in a manner that differs from the intended design, or when the product does not contain proper warnings or instructions. Defects can occur in automobiles, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, construction equipment, toys, and other goods.

Between 1.5 and 2 million elderly reside in nursing home facilities, with studies revealing that 44% have suffered some form of abuse. Many believe the actual number of residents suffering abuse is much higher. Neglect and abuse may result in serious emotional, physical, and financial harm

Carol M. Bosch was born and raised in Saint-Pierre-les-Nemours, France, where her parents ran a flower business.  She first visited the United States as a foreign exchange student during high school.  The following summer, she returned to the United States to volunteer for Citizens for a Better Environment, anationwide organization that works to reduce exposure to toxic substances in land, water, and air.  Her experience at the environmental nonprofit organization led her to move to Northern California for college and eventually settle there.

Carol graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Theater Studies from the University of Birmingham, England, and a J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law.  After working as an intern for the Honorable Claudia Wilkin at the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and as a law clerk and research attorney at the California Supreme Court, Ms. Bosch found her niche as a civil litigator, first at Hersh & Hersh in San Francisco and then at Paul & Hanley LLP.  She has successfully represented plaintiffs in personal injury, civil rights, prescription drug, and toxic exposure cases.  Recent accomplishments include representing a plumber and his wife in an asbestos-related cancer case that settled for $6.4 million and representing a plant worker with mesothelioma in a case which resulted in more than $4 million in settlements for the worker and his wife.
