The number of people diagnosed with asbestos caused diseases in the U.S. continues to increase. Experts believe 60,000 mesothelioma deaths will occur between 2010 and 2030.

Jennifer A. Maier

Jennifer A. Maier was born in North Bergen Township, New Jersey in 1981.

She received her B.S. from the University of Maryland, College Park, in Environmental Science and Policy with a minor in Economics and a citation in International Studies in 2004.  Jennifer received her J.D. from Golden Gate University in 2007 with a Specialization with Distinction in Environmental Law. 

While at GGU, Jennifer clerked for numerous non-profits, organizations and agencies. She was published in the Golden Gate University Law Review in 2005 and then helped begin Golden Gate University's first Environmental Law Journal, acting as Editor-in-Chief for the inaugural year.  She received many honors and awards including the Academic Award for Excellence in Environmental Law for the graduating class of 2007.

Most recently, Jennifer has worked as a litigation consultant and attorney on Environmental Justice and Clean Air Act permitting cases in Hayward, California.  Jennifer is a member of the State Bar of California and the Bar Association of San Francisco.
