Selby Lighthill grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, received his B.A. from the University of Chicago, and earned his law degree from U.C. Hastings College of the Law in 2007. While in law school Selby clerked with the San Francisco City Attorney's Office, was a member of the Communication and Entertainment Law Journal, and co-founded the Hastings Law and Politics Review. Selby served as a Moot Court teaching assistant and earned the Moot Court Best Brief award.
Prior to joining Paul & Hanley, Selby worked on consumer protection class action cases, and represented low-income tenants facing eviction in San Francisco. He is a member of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, the Consumer Attorneys of California, and the American Constitution Society.
